Granola
...it just doesn't get much easier....
Combine in a big bowl
4 c. old-fashioned oats
1/2 c. wheat germ
1 c. almond slivers
1/2 c. sunflower seeds
1/4 c. sesame seeds
1/4 c. dark brown sugar
1/2 t. salt
Simmer
1/2 c. maple syrup
6 T canola oil
2 T water
Heat oven to 275. Mix dry ingredients. Drizzle syrup mixture over oat mixture, stirring to combine (squeeze into clumps if you're a clumper). Pour everything into two 9 x 13 pans (I use one 9 x 13 and one 9 x 9). Bake for 30-45 minutes, stirring every 15 min. Let cool. Can be stored for up to two weeks in an airtight container. Makes a bunch (a quart and a half?).

Kewl. Looks perfect; I'll try it (once I'm done with this frickin garden project).
Man, Senioritis, your garden project looks HUGE...good luck!
Thanks for the reminder for me to dig out my granola recipe. It is similar to yours but mine has vanilla extract and honey. YUM!
Mmmm, granola. Sure beats Saturday's ride in the rain...and Sunday's run in the rain...and today's ride/run in the rain. Then again, that was all better than being one of these folks:

Ugh...now back to the granola!
Oh my that sounds great... thanks Old Bag:)
Peace
Every time I've ever tried to make homemade granola, I end up with a vaguely sweet concrete brick. Maybe I'll give your recipe a shot. Thanks.
Eat early and often -- yum!
Shawn -- this was last night's supper....
Jill -- this is quite crunchy and I've never clumped it, so it's all crumbly...but not powdery-crumbly
Hey, was Blogger having a bad-bike-hair-day yesterday? A few of my posts never made it. I had a really creative response about your Granola recipe – something about loving recipes that end in vowels and the troubles of translating syrup into Spanish as “syrupo”. Now it’s all gone. Pout. :-(

Alberto -- may have been...one post made it to my inbox a few _days_ before it actually showed up posted on the blog.
