Intersection

straddling the edge
pondering
the unexplored
steep
narrow singletrack
winding over rock beds
across logs
down
into
a bank of trees
the climb begins
someplace beneath
the overgrowth

I know the route
that brought me here
but
unfamiliar
intricate trails
are demanding
and
even more
amazing

- OB go that way!

OH, that is good! Standing at the crossroads. Everything familiar behind you. Only the unknown ahead. Will it be good or bad? Will I gain entrance or be denied. VERY compelling, OB!

Sometimes we go for the challenge with the only safety net being the trust that our past experiences prepare us for the unknown....

Testing one's own mettle! It's a GOOD thing to stare into the maw of the monster, remind yourself you're safe, stare into the maw again . . .

You had me from the first word: straddling. :-D

Beautifully written with just the right scent of leaf and log, of trail and trial. Have a great weekend OB.

Tres eloquent! And what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right?

Nice. I was right there wondering why and how I got there. I just haven't found that part of myself yet. Keep me on the open road and warn me about the bumps!

Wheelie,

Tegaderm for the soul == Masala Mama IPA from Town Hall.

Best applied _after_ falling...

Thanks all.

@ Brother Yam -- thanks for the heads-up re the pale ale. We get over to Town Hall now and again...not often enough.

@ Jenny -- thanks for the comment and visit!
