Church of the Middle Ring

With Wheel recovering from the stomach flu and me getting over my...um...whatever is is that's been making me tired whiny crabby, neither one of us was up for a long road ride on Sunday, so we got the mountain bikes out for a spin at Lebanon Hills: one of the first, if not the first, sustainable singletrack built in the area. It's an awesome legacy.

It was a perfect spring day: sunny, breezy, 70 degrees.

-OB we stopped for a Frosty on the way home

What a place! Cycling aside (I know YOU can't put it aside), this is an awesome green place. I am not a desert native. I've come to love it, having served not one, but two life sentences in LV, NV. But sometimes I just yearn to have the peace and beauty of lush green in my view. I'm envious.

Your malaise will end in days, I believe, but for now - no more bitchy pills for you, little Miss Crabby Ass. ;)

Sorry Wheel was sick. I wondered where he'd gone away to.

After viewing your pictures, we have to get to the trails in the Twin Cities area. We have followed the MORC site for a while and the pics put the icing on the cake. Thanks

That would make me want to get out my mountain bike!

@Limes--this is the best time of year in spite of our record low precip...trees and underbrush are green, but lawns are brown already.

@rlove--there's something for everyone: swoopy trails for the intermediate, advanced playgrounds with steps, log piles, teeter totters.... We don't have the distances of the trails in the Cable area, but MORC makes the most of the space they have. I think Leb has about 7 miles of trail. Murphy Hanrehan is closer to 10. Both have more space for additions.

@jeff -- the only thing that would make it better is if we could get to them all w/o throwing the bikes in the car. One is about 3 miles away right in the city -- we ride to that one, but getting to most of the others would be a ride in themselves if we didn't drive.

I'm thinking your Inner Soundtrack may have a little Alice Cooper running on an endless loop....

Ahhh, a little single track looks really nice. It makes suffering through winter all worth it to ride in all of the green.

@Brother -- Well we got no choice!

@Mike J -- it really is a beautiful time of year around here.

@Badger -- singlespeed mtb 29er is on my short list.

Nicepost and pics...the trails are always greener I suppose. I envy all the places my fellow bloggers ride. If all the worlds a stage, I need a set change!

@HWB -- it is nice to have a change of scenery every now and again...but it's always nice to come home.
