We'll see how it works out -- the idea of going out back for a salad is motivating, but neither one of us knows much about gardening.

Awesome :)) Weed often. Water if it needs it but not too often. Last year that got me some maters and corn ;)

Your garden is already prettier than my garden.

Hi O.B. and Wheel,

Growing some of your own food, commuting on 2 wheels and actively working to tame the craving for industrial fast food (frosties) certainly sets a wonderful example for all of us. I wonder about bike racers who drive many hundreds of miles to ride in a bike race and cannot even get their minds around recycling their cans and bottles even though all they have to do is put them in a "blue bin". Thanks.

Onward with 2 wheeled fun and personal conservation.

@Sioux--thx for the advice! Can I toss some blame your way if it doesn't work???

@Pete--YOU CAN DO IT (there's the elementary teacher in me)

@Terry--we do what we can :-)

It looks like you guys are working on Square Foot Gardening. I've just put in two 5x5 plots this year where I usually do rows, so this is an experiment for me also. I like the look of it already.

You look like a couple of kids havin' fun! A garden is a wonderful summer project. It seems no matter what part of the country we live in, Memorial Day weekend is lovely, warm and meant to be spent outdoors.

Your garden is way better than ours but we can grow some mean weeds.

@Brother Yam -- yup SFG. It's got to be easier than rototilling. We did a 4x6 and the 4x4 is still empty.

@Limes -- we had wonderful weather this past weekend!

@Mike -- we've got plenty of those too! They're just in different spots.

You know not to plant zucchini, right? Where nothing else will grow under any circumstances, one packet of zucchini seeds will produce more fruit that your friends and loved ones will forgive you for!

Nice work and let me know if you have any questions or need any plants, we have plenty of tomato plants

When I'm not riding bikes, working on bikes, or writing about bikes, I'm working on my garden. I'm looking forward to getting the last of the 4 yards of garden soil out of my driveway this weekend! I'm sure my neighbors are too.

@Limes -- advice taken!

@MNHomesteader -- thanks! And we may take you up on your tomato offer!

@Jeff -- good luck on the project. It's great when it's all finally in the ground.
