clawing my way out of the abyss
is a bit overly dramatic, and it's not like
the only place to go is up
because truly there are lower places, and
starting from square-one
invokes the award for cliché-usage, but damn-it
yesterday I didn't know what to wear for a 50-degree bicycle ride

Be easy on yourself--grief does weird things to our brains.
Thanks Doozy -- the combination of everything this fall has meant precious little time on the bicycle. I'm looking forward to getting back on track slowly but surely.

50 is too hot to ride! Oh, sorry, wrong measurement. I am easing into the hot weather, can't imagine having the guts and motivation to cycle in the cold. My verification is strall, you know, like in Australlya.
HTFU! Knee warmers, red glasses, a 70's vintage hair net helmet, and Quoleum medium embrocation on all exposed skin. And nothing else.
50° at least does not mean neoprene...
