Heavy

it's been a tough few days;
a friend has made some poor choices
that affect the spouse and children
and the whole thing is weighing on me;
and Stella, she tried getting me out on Sunday
but we've had so much rain the trails were too muddy
so the ride had to wait;
and Stella was really the one who
would have taken my mind off things
because ya can't be thinking about your stupid friends
when she hauls you over a gnarly downhill
with a banked corner
that sends you straight into the hairpin
and through the meadow
toward the log pile

Watching a friend in a trainwreck can be almost as hard as being in one yourself. And too wet to ride! That WOULD make one feel weighted down. Here's to some happier days with sun and light breezes.

Please go ride. Rolling wheels don't gather stuff.... or something like that.

It's true; riding single track is for blowing the dust out of your mind but hiking is for sorting the dustballs. It was a nice day for a hike though...

Ride the muddy trails and call it cyclocross.

And otherwise, consider lilies!

@Limes--trainwreck is an apt description

@HWB--wise man, my friend.

@WD--yes, the hiking was good...looking forward to the upcoming weekend to blow out the dust.

@jeff--I would, but I'm too conscientious. Wet singletrack=damaged singletrack. But, it WOULD be fun!

@Badger--I spent some time at your place looking at lilies just today....

Thought so! I've been in a few. Didn't care for it much.
